Two separate stages โ one required, one optional.
Two stages
Tamed, then trained
Every dog's action card shows two separate stats: Tamed and
Trained. They're earned in different ways and do different things.

Training requires taming first. The "Train at Market โ" button doesn't appear
on a dog's card until Tamed hits 100%, and the Academy checks it too. So the order is fixed:
๐ Treat โ ๐พ Train โ โจ Advanced.
๐ Taming โ the sell gate
Open any dog's card and press ๐ Treat. Each click adds
+25 Tamed for 15๐ช. Four clicks (60๐ช) reaches 100%.

Deep Bond halves the cost. If you're taming many dogs to sell, breed a Deep Bond
dog first and use it as a parent โ every pup inherits the trait 100% of the time when the other
parent has none. The 15๐ช saved per dog adds up fast.
Who can be tamed:Lv 3+ dogs, healthy (not hungry, aggressive,
or sick), and not wolves. Wolves can never be tamed โ the Treat button doesn't
appear on their card.
๐พ Training โ bonus + specialties
Once a dog is 100% tamed, its card offers a ๐พ Train at Market โ
button. That takes you to the Market โ ๐พ Training Academy, where you can pay
for training sessions.

Each session costs 30๐ช. The Academy stays open on the current dog between

๐ Fully Trained
Fully trained adds +40๐ช to the sale price of any dog sold at the Market โ even
one that hasn't learned an advanced specialty. If you're going to sell the dog anyway, training
pays for itself the moment the sale clears.
โจ Advanced training โ one specialty per dog
Once a dog is both 100% tamed and 100% trained, the Training Academy offers
one advanced specialty for that dog. It costs 100๐ช, it's
permanent, and it adds +120๐ช to the sale price. Some breed-specialty combos
are the highest-value dogs in the game.

The real payoff is buyer requests. Specialist buyers on the Market โ ๐งพ Requests
sub-tab ask for a specific breed with a specific specialty โ Officer Hayes wants a German
Shepherd with Police K-9, Ms. Halloway wants a Chocolate Labrador with Service Dog training,
and so on. Their base payout is 460โ620๐ช, versus 200โ400 for a regular buyer.
A fully-styled specialist is the highest single sale in the game.
Only one specialty per dog, ever. Once learned, it's locked โ you can't switch
or upgrade. Choose the specialty that matches a buyer persona you actually plan to serve, or
the one with the highest premium (Police K-9, Service Dog, and Mountain Rescue tend to fetch the
most).
๐บ Wolves โ never tamed, never trained
Wolves have neither stat. The Treat, Train, and Wash buttons don't appear on a
wolf's card at all โ those dogs only have Feed, Calm, Send to Vet (if sick), Store, and Deliver
to the Wolfkeeper.
Wolves also agitate the meadow and can be bitten back by the very dogs they anger โ the
Kennel is the only safe place to keep them while you level them up. Full
details on the Kennel page, and the wolf-lineage behaviour
including Wolfdogs is on the Breeds page.
๐ก Quick tips
Train after taming, not before. The training button literally doesn't appear on an untamed dog's card.
Deep Bond halves both costs. 30๐ช taming + 60๐ช training, instead of 60 + 90. Worth breeding for if you tame and sell a lot of dogs.
Requests can ask for less than 100% training. A Lv 4 buyer might only need 72% trained โ check the ๐ Needs line on the request card before assuming you have to train to max.
Only invest in advanced training on keeper breeds. Advanced training on a dog you're about to merge or deliver is wasted โ it goes with the dog.
Taming is a Market requirement, not a Court one. Court and Pack don't care about taming at all โ a bare Lv 6 dog can be delivered to a Court client without spending a single Treat.
Don't train dogs you're going to merge. The merge replaces both parents with a new dog โ training progress is lost.
Wolves are the one exception to everything. They can't be tamed, trained, bathed, or groomed. Just kennel them and deliver to the Wolfkeeper.
